14 year old boy subjected to ‘violent attack’ in IKEA store

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to trace after a “violent attack” on a 14-year-old schoolboy at an IKEA store in Coventry.

The man was captured on CCTV as he left the store on Croft Road at around 12.40pm on Saturday 7 March.

The man is described by police as white, in his mid 20s, 6ft tall, of medium athletic build, with short gingery hair and a short beard.

West Midlands Police said the 14-year-old boy was punched four times and knocked to the floor, causing swelling and bruising to his face and nose.

It appears the suspect and the 14-year-old became involved in an argument which resulted in the lad being assaulted.

This was nasty attack and I am appealing for anyone who was in the store at the time or anyone who knows who the suspect is to contact police on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 55 111.
